Racinos Benefit All Minnesota Horsemen with Non-Racing Equine Activities Fund
The Horsemen’s Bill for Racinos requires a portion of Racino revenue be set aside for non-racing equine service and promotion activities. The non-racing equine fund is estimated to be $3 - $4 million every year once the Racinos are in operation. The fund will be administered through the Department of Agriculture and will be distributed through a grant application process. This presents a wonderful opportunity for non-profit organizations that serve and celebrate horses and riders like 4-H, therapeutic riding programs, equine health research and breed or performance promotion groups among others.
The St. Paul Pioneer Press reported that Canterbury Park Holding Company was ranked in the top 100 publicly held Minnesota Businesses based upon current market value in the Sunday, March 22 edition of the paper.
